Introduction

Founded in 2016, The LA Biotech Center (previously Pathways to Stem Cell Science) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research and education on the cutting edge of stem cells and biotechnology. We cultivate scientific excellence through the provision of wet-lab facilities, research support and comprehensive education programs – catering to scientists and students at every stage.

The LA Biotech Center is a 4,000 sq ft co-working laboratory designed to support teaching, research and networking events. Located in Torrance California, the center serves as a unique hub, offering professionally equipped facilities to scientists throughout the LA area. We unite a diverse community of innovators from independent researchers to established biotech companies. Professionals and students alike benefit from an ecosystem that cultivates learning, collaboration and scientific discovery.

Research and Development

R&D Mission: Develop enabling technologies to accelerate research on the cutting edge of stem cells biotechnology.

The LA Biotech Center is dedicated to supporting professional scientists through collaborative research, technological development and comprehensive training.

Our internal R&D program focuses on establishing improved, cost-effective technologies in collaboration with scientists around the globe. As a 501c (3) organization we’re able to collaborate in a wide range of grant funded projects both with companies and non-profit research institutions.

Education Programs

Educational Mission: Equip students to excel in STEM education, science fair research, real world internships and future STEM careers.

Understanding the critical importance of education, The LA Biotech Center offers comprehensive lab-training and science education programs for students of all ages. These initiatives are designed, not just to educate but to inspire the next generation of scientists and prepare students with the skills, knowledge, mentorship and career insights needed to excel academically and professionally. We serve a diverse array of learners from K-12 students to professional scientists, providing hands-on lab experiences that install authentic skills. Our innovative programs enhance confidence and literacy by imparting essential knowledge from a unique real-world perspective that can’t be gained in traditional academic science programs.
